What saw can I use to cut Triotherm?
Triotherm can be cut with almost every type of saw.
A hand saw is mainly used for cutting Triotherm to the individual length. The same approach can be done by using a mitre saw.
If you have to cut the height, you should consider either a skill saw, table saw or band saw. A jig saw or sabre saw (reciprocating saw) would could Triotherm as well but the cuts won´t be as accurate as might required.
Please don´t consider the use of angle grinders or con saws for cutting Triotherm.
Do I need a special saw blade?
It´s highly recommended to use a saw blade with carbide tips, when cutting Triotherm with skill, mitre or table saws.
A standard saw blade for timber will get blunt just after a few cuts.
The saw blade specification to the left would be the most superior option.
Also, please allow for a medium speed in case you´re running a saw with adjustable speed settings.
How to drill through Triotherm when fixing to subfloor or block?
Just use your SDS drillbit and drill through the Triotherm into the concrete or block down below. There´s no pre-drilling required. Just use a long enough SDS drill bit with 6mm or even 6.5mm diameter to ensure the fixing of the concrete screw into the substrate.
The concrete screws can be drilled right into the Triotherm thereafter without any need for additional countersinking.
And there´s no need for an additional washer as well as Triotherm is dense enough on its own.
